Manchester (With travel to Elland, W Yorks & Winsford)

£35-40k + Car Allowance

Role Purpose:   

The overall purpose of the role is to provide consistent and professional advice and support to managers across the business on a variety of ER/HR issues to ensure compliance with Policies & Procedures and promote best practice.

Responsibilities

Key Areas

This job description describes the main responsibilities of the role; however, it is expected that people will undertake any other duties as required commensurate with their skills and abilities.

Key Result Area’s

    Advise / support managers with disciplinary and grievance issues including; issue of associated letters, conducting investigations & note taking in hearings where appropriate

    Assist managers in absence and performance management

    To support the management of organisational changes resulting in complex employee relations activities, including TUPE transfers, restructures and redundancy exercises

    To support with appropriate due diligence activity in preparation for company acquisitions

    To assist with litigious ER cases and tribunal claims, liaising with legal partners accordingly.

    Support Managers in recruitment activity / senior appointments

    Review, develop and roll out HR best practice training workshops to managers

    Coaching of Managers on best practice

    Keep up to date with Employment Law / legislation changes

    Work with the Group HR Manager in developing and implementing HR strategies to meet business requirements

    Review and identify improvements to HR procedures whilst ensuring full compliance with current and future regulatory requirements.

    Work with the Group HR Manager to draft / introduce & regularly review HR policies and procedures in line with legislation changes

    Ensure compliance with policies and procedures

    Support the Group HR Manager with adhoc business & HR projects

    Redesign and delivery of HR induction training

    Provide general assistance to the Group HR Manager

    Represent HR and play an active role on various committees

    MI – monitor and review MI to identify key trends and ensure appropriate action taken

    Consistently deliver high quality levels of customer and client service

    Deliver high standards of compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and client requirements

    Adherence to all policies and procedures

    Delivery of objectives on time and fit for business unit / deliver to agreed timescales

    Actions delivered through own initiative

    Prioritising activities and developing realistic plans to achieve objectives within appropriate deadlines

Requirements

    Proven work experience as an HR business partner

    Excellent people management skills

    Analytical and goal oriented

    Demonstrable experience with HR metrics

    Thorough knowledge of labour legislation

    Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices

    Degree in Human Resources or related field

    An effective people manager, able to motivate, coach and develop staff

    A good change manager – develop & implement ideas – project and people management skills are vital

    Someone who fits with the team/Group ethic – drive and nurture

    An ability to build positive personal relationships with all stakeholders. In this context, the job holder must be confident and assertive but not aggressive; articulate and persuasive but not abrasive

    Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the internet
